Point Reyes National Seashore

Monday 20 August 2018

Pinnacles was very peaceful overnight. On the weekend almost every campsite was full. By Sunday night there are only about 5 sites occupied. O and I sleep very well in the quiet campground. We wake at about 7:30. By 9 am we are in Hollister for our last breakfast at Cozy Cup.

Our drive to Point Reyes is smooth. It is much cooler near the coast. We arrive at Tomales Bay Resort near 2 pm. Here we are given a brochure on Point Reyes National Seashore. We drive out Sir Francis Drake Road hoping to get a glimpse of the lighthouse. The road is closed however, due to a restoration project. The coast is cloudy, cool and windy. It’s actually refreshing to feel cold instead of hot! We turn back to the resort for an early dinner. At least we got to see the tunnel of Monterey Cypress trees along the way.
