We breakfast at the motel and then drive to Sacramento to find yet another REI for a few more odds and ends. O and I realize that we are not only touring the country’s national parks, but also its REI stores. Next we find a Trader Joe’s to stock up on groceries. By now it is near 2 pm and we are both getting hungry. Since Sacramento offers more lunch possibilities than the little towns near Lassen we find a brew pub here. By the time we finish lunch and find the correct route out of Sacramento it is almost 4:30. Luckily our drive to Lassen goes smoothly. We arrive at Manzanita Campground near 8 pm and find our campsite in the dark. By this point in our trip, camp set up in the dark is not a problem. By 9 pm we are tucked into Wglwof and drifting off to sleep.
