At Fowlers Hollow

4 Aug 2015

We had a rip-roaring thunderstorm during the night, but by morning the sun was shining and a pleasant breeze was blowing. It’s peach pie and fresh
peaches for breakfast, eaten with our reserved little containers of
sour cream from the diner the night before. Yum!!

Today is a day for getting organized, completing paperwork (yes, we still have some of that to do) making the small repairs we did not have a chance
to complete before we left home (like inserting new windshield wiper
inserts for Jazz (our Subaru), making sure the SD card reader works, adding extra lines to the tarp, and figuring out where we are going over the next week.

Not a bad shake down day. And it’s very pleasant doing all these tasks
sitting in the shade at a beautiful state park. We’ll be leaving here
in the morning and heading to Ohiopyle State Park where we will visit
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water, and then head off on a three day
backpacking trip to shake down that set of equipment. Then we will turn
north.

Dinner tonight is peanut butter spaghetti, our traditional first night out meal. Time to go cook.
